Licenses for GSA Schedule software - SIN 511210
Federal, state, local, regional, and tribal governments can rely on SIN 511210 to provide commercial software and maintenance products. In the new GSA Multiple Award Schedule Solicitation (511210 - Software Licenses), the legacy SINs (132-32 - term software, 132-33 - perpetual software) were consolidated.
Among the software maintenance products are bug/defect fixes published via patches, upgrades in functionality, and technology to ensure the operability and usability of the software product. Additional no-charge support may also be included in the price of the product in the commercial market. Examples of no-charge support include:
- Forums for discussion
- General technical support via email/web for users to diagnose problems
- Based on frequently asked question.
- Live chat rooms
- And limited telephone service
- Are available through online help libraries
- Based on user blogs
The cost of GSA Schedule software maintenance products is billed at the time of purchase. It is not included in a software maintenance product the creation, design, development, implementation, integration, etc. of a software package that is considered a software maintenance service under SIN 54151.
Software Maintenance Services - SIN 54151
Software maintenance services in SIN 54151 create, design, implement, and/or integrate customized changes to software that solve one or more problems and are not included in the price.
The GSA Schedule software maintenance services include telephone support, online technical support, customized support, and/or technical expertise that are charged commercially.
By 31 U.S.C. 3324, software maintenance services are billed in arrears.
