Why GSA Schedule Contract is the Most Useful Contract?

The GSA Schedule contract is the most versatile contract in government contracting. It is so because it allows the vendors to sell their products and services to any of the federal agencies of the federal market. With more than 11 million products and services under the listing, this is the most preferred contracting vehicle of the federal.
The other unique aspect of the GSA Schedule contract is that it allows the vendors to receive orders and contracts without waiting for the response to each of the government request. This is something commendable as it gives freedom to the vendor in the highly restrictive government market.
The term for GSA Schedule
There are 4 terms for a vendor to get on the schedule and each term is for 5 years. So, in all the vendor gets to perform in the federal market for a whopping 20 years which is a significant term. However, it needs to apply all over again for each term and the application is checked and scrutinized the same way every time.
More about GSA
The GSA or General Services Administration is the buying vehicle for the federal from the commercial vendors. This is though not the only channel through which the federal procures goods and services and the fact is, anyone can sell to the federal.
But the GSA Schedule contract guarantees quality goods and services with the least pricing which the federal has a penchant for. It makes the federal buying less costly and more efficient and so many vendors are willing to do business through the schedule. It gives them a completely different territory to earn revenue from the very reliable customer the federal itself.
