Many commercial businesses offer guides on how to get a GSA schedule for managing their contracts (for a price). These businesses actively recruit new contractors for their services, so one or more of them will probably get in touch with you soon. Some businesses include "GSA" in their names and email addresses, and occasionally they structure their communications such that it appears that it is coming from the GSA. GSA does not share any connections with any commercial businesses that offer support services for contract management.

Any email correspondence from GSA personnel will always come from an account with the firstname.lastname@gsa.gov format.

Product Requirements for GSA Advantage!® GSA is dedicated to enhancing the customer experience and works to make sure that purchasing from and selling to the government is simple, effective, and contemporary. By posting correct images of things for sale on GSA Advantage!®, sellers may avoid buyer confusion and cut back on returns. With so many items on GSA Advantage!®, it's critical to ensure that your products have full descriptions, clear, high-quality images, and detailed product names.

Contractors supplying goods under their MAS contracts must submit pictures following the specifications in the VSC's Schedules SIN-MOL-Photo lookup table.

Please think about using the following best practices on how to get a GSA schedule when posting images to best serve the buyer community.

  • Include many images of each item or accessory to demonstrate various angles (up to 4). You must determine which image is the default to proceed (i.e. primary photo).
  • Drawings shouldn't be used as primary photographs.
  • Few or no props or extras that are not included with the product should be shown in the photo, which should only feature the item that is for sale. The buyer could become confused if additional accessories are offered that are not part of the product.
  • Only text that is a part of the product should be shown in photos.
  • A company logo *should not* be seen in photos unless it is fastened to the object itself as part of the branding.

GSA may add product data from outside sources, including manufacturers and their authorized partners, to a contractor's electronic contract data on GSA Advantage! Images, PDF attachments, and product descriptions are just a few examples of what this could be. 

Reporting Sales and Industrial Financing Remitting fees

Key Elements: To properly submit your IFF to GSA, you must keep track of every sale that occurs through your Schedule using the Special Item Number (SIN). Sales and IFF are tracked and sent in one of two possible ways:

  • Data from Transactions (Monthly Reporting) and
  • Business Sales Techniques (Quarterly Reporting)

Reporting Requirements for Subcontracts

These provisions deal with the reporting of executive salaries and the use of subcontractors. Throughout your contract, this condition needs to be reviewed if you qualify as an "Other than small business."

If relevant, you must submit the above-mentioned information by the end of the month after the contract was awarded, and yearly after that. GSA may take contractual action against you for failing to submit this information in line with the clause, which could also have an impact on how well you perform on this contract.
